Today we are celebrating the festival of holi in India. Holi is one of the most popular festival in India and is celebrated in every part of the country. The popularity of Holi has even reached the western countries and in many of these countries it has become an annual affair. There are many tourists who visit India just to enjoy this festival.
The festival is Holi is celebrated with colors, people put different types of colors on each other. Both dry and wet colors are used. Though Dry colors which are locally known as “abir” are more popular as it is easy to carry and apply and many people don’t like being wet as it becomes a constraint.
Most people cook delicious sweets in their house in this day, “Gujias” are the most common food item that is prepared on this day. People also go and distribute sweets to their family and friends.The most popular thing nowadays in Holi has been the use of Natural colors. People use colors made from flowers and plants which are totally herbal like they use rose petals for making the red color.
