I attended my second ‘Bloggers Meet’ just a few days ago which was a really great experience for me. It’s always nice to be a part of a gathering were people share their knowledge and experience. I’m having a tough schedule these days but I still went there as I committed to it earlier and didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
The event was co-organized by Skyscanner and Indiblogger and it was held at Le Meridien, New Delhi on Saturday,March 1, 2014. The timing was from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. All the bloggers were asked to post their travel pictures on twitter on the night before the event and the one whose entry would be selected will receive a gift from the skyscanner team. So, many bloggers went to twitter and posted their pictures using #skyscanning.
Skyscanner is a tour and travel planning site providing some great deals and customized results. It also has an app which provide some really user-friendly features. So, the next time when you plan your journey this site will be of great help to you.
This was the biggest meet by Indibloggers till date with around 400 bloggers making their presence felt at the event. The meet started with the registration as usual but before any work we were served lunch. Everyone went to the have their lunch (I feel vegetarians always have limited options). The food was really good and I enjoyed the desert as well.
Then everyone moved towards the sitting area and captured their seats. The program started with some introduction from the Skyscanner team about their website and their app.
Indiblogger meets are known for their fun activities so this event started with an activity to take a “SELFIE”…the best part was my phone was not working that day It was like the world was conspiring against me but all these thoughts vanished as some of the bloggers who were sitting next to me took some selfies with me. It was nice to be a part of that “chaotic” crowd.
There were some really “creative” people around there who took some really different (read weird) Selfies. The selfie with one guy kissing another won the contest. They really deserved to win it as they were crowd favorite.
After that there was an activity in which people were told to stand up if they were wearing or carrying something. The people who managed to remain seated were given some prizes.
The third event was a team event and I think more such events should be done, it breaks the ice between different bloggers and the event becomes more entertaining. I was part of group 5 which eventually went on to win the event. The group 5 (winning team) picture -
One of the demerits of being tall is that you are always standing behind everyone in the group pictures.
I think I have somehow managed to be invisible in most of the pictures taken by the “indibloggers”. Because of the group pictures I have some proof that I was there. There was snacks in between the activities and in the end we had some group pictures. I think this must be one of the biggest congregation of the bloggers. Hurr! Hurr!
Stay happy. Stay blessed.
